Uniform Policy
The warm Perth weather in May has resulted in a delayed transition to the winter uniform, and we feel it is important to revisit with students and parents our expectations for how the students present themselves at school. How students wear the uniform indicates not only the pride they hold in their school but also their willingness to follow school policies and their engagement in the classroom.
Prior to the commencement of Term 2; Mr Davies wrote to all families and shared the expectations for uniforms and presentations for students. This correspondence was sent out via email on 11 April.
If a student does not follow the school policy for uniforms, it will be considered a behaviour issue and managed according the Management of Student Behaviour Policy.
We desire to see our students proudly wear the uniform and come to school ready to learn. Being ready to learn means dressing properly, having hair and jewellery worn in line with the school policy, and students having all the equipment they require for their learning. This includes a fully charged computer, their diary, a pencil case, and their notebooks and workbooks for their classes. All students in Years 6 to 10 have had assemblies this week where these expectations have been made clear. PCG tutors have been working with the students to assist them in meeting these expectations, but we ask parents to speak with their children and ensure they understand and meet our expectations every day. We are certain that by working together, we can assist our students in meeting this simple but important expectation for being a student at St Mark's.
