Middle School Bulletin - Term 3, Week 1

We are pleased to announce some adjustments to our uniform policy for Physical Education (PE), Dance, and Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) lessons, aimed at streamlining the process for our students. Starting this term, we will trial the following procedures:

• Year 6: Students who have PE during the day may arrive at school dressed in their PE uniforms during Term 3 and are permitted to wear them throughout the school day. They will resume changing for PE lessons in Term 4.
• Years 7 to 12: For those with PE, Dance or OAS scheduled in Periods 1 or 2, students are allowed to come to school in their PE uniform and will change into their school uniform after their lesson.
• Years 7 to 12: For PE, Dance or OAS lessons during Periods 3 or 4, students should arrive in their school uniform, change into their PE uniform for the lesson, and then change back to their school uniforms afterward.
• Years 7 to 12: Students with PE, Dance or OAS in Periods 5 or 6 will also arrive in school uniform, change for their lesson, and may go home in their PE uniform.

Please note, if students in Years 7-12 have Chapel during PCG time, they are required to attend in their school uniform, not PE uniform.

These modifications are intended to minimise the use of changing rooms and reduce the frequency of changing required during the day. To ensure adherence to the new policy, PCG tutors will monitor students’ schedules and correct uniform each day.

St Marks has been provided with the new Australia Concussion Guidelines for Youth and Community Sports. The safety and well-being of our students is paramount, and these guidelines aim to ensure prompt and appropriate action in the event of a concussion.

The mantra for these guidelines is simple: “If in doubt, sit them out”. This means that if there is any suspicion of concussion during school activities and after school activities, it is imperative to remove the student from play and seek appropriate medical attention.

Furthermore, we kindly request that parents notify our school nurse if a child has a sustained concussion outside of school hours. Please find attached the link to the guidelines for review and understanding.

In a spectacular musical experience, our talented Year 6-12 students will take the stage in Week 4 for our production of Mamma Mia! Featuring all your favourite ABBA hits, this show promises to be a Super Trouper event that the whole family will enjoy.

With a cast and crew of nearly 80 dedicated students, this production showcases an incredible range of talent. From acting and singing to dancing, musicianship, design, and technical wizardry, our students have poured their hearts and souls into bringing this timeless story to life. Our design team has worked tirelessly to create stunning sets and costumes while our tech wizards ensure that every sound and light cue is perfectly timed. The musicians have been rehearsing non-stop to make sure the music transports you straight to the heart of the Greek Isles.

Thank You for the Music and the unforgettable memories we’re about to create. The energy and passion our students bring to the stage will leave you wanting more. It's a Voulez-Vous moment you won't want to miss, so Take a Chance on Me.

The City of Wanneroo is currently seeking more under 8's, 14's, and 16's teams for a viable competition and there are also a few spaces left in the under 10's and 12's.

Did you know that our Old Scholars' Association Little Lions Playgroup is run on-site every Friday during term time? We'd love to see your little cub there this Friday!

Join us from 8.45 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. for lots of fun and games. Little Lions Playgroup is a community-based group run in conjunction with Playgroup WA and caters for children up to school age. Families attending our Kindy and not in session on Fridays are more than welcome to join as well.
