A message from the Head of Primary School
With only three weeks to go before the end of term, I am very pleased with our students and their approach to school and learning. I find the attitude and demeanour that is displayed first thing in the morning, before they go in to class, is an excellent barometer of how the student body is travelling. The smiles, greetings and energy on display before school tells me they are happy and eager to be here at school.
I hope school routines are now bedded down and this has made drop offs and pick ups easier. These routines bring calmness and predictability that children thrive on and this is an area that our whole school is working on. I would also like to remind parents that there are another two weeks of school after this week before the holidays begin. Attendance does make a big difference and I encourage all families to begin their travels when the holiday period officially commences.
Mr Barton has provided a report on our Swimming Carnival that can be found later in this Bulletin, but I would like to congratulate Moyes House for winning the Trophy this year. It was a close race this year with only 12 points separating the mighty Moyes with Watkins House.
This week our Year 3 and 5 students will begin their NAPLAN exams. These will occur on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Monday with the rest of next week allocated to catch up assessments. As always, a healthy breakfast and plenty of sleep will allow students to work their best during this time.
