School Leavers' Initiative
The National Careers Institute, at the Department of Education, Skills and Employment, has established the School Leavers' initiative to help support school leavers aged 15-24 transitioning from school into a career pathway.
The transition from school can be challenging, and the COVID-19 pandemic has presented some uncertainty resulting in a changed education and workforce landscape. Our service has been established to help school leavers easily find the information they need to support their decisions while deciding on their next steps, as well as provide additional support through our qualified career practitioners, if needed.
School Leavers' Information Kit (SLIK)
The School Leavers Information Kit has all of the resources and information needed to help young people explore the education, training and work options available to them in 2021.
School Leavers' Information Service
The Information Service provides support to young people to explore their education, training, and employment interests, and provides the following services:
- free personalised career guidance sessions for school leavers aged 15-24 years with a qualified career practitioner over the telephone.
Operating hours are from 9.00am to 7.30pm (callers local time) Monday to Friday.
