CAREERS EXPO ON THIS MONTH!

St Mark's Anglican Community School, Hillarys, and Sacred Heart College, Sorrento, are partnering again to bring you an outstanding opportunity to access over 50 exhibitors. These include universities, TAFE, training providers, and industry representatives. A full list of exhibitors will be made available in the next week.
Due to Covid restrictions this will be a free ticketed event. There will be two sessions that you can book in to.
Date: Monday 17 May 2021
Times: Session 1: 6pm to 7pm and Session 2: 7pm to 8pm

Interested in Engineering?
ECU would like to extend an invitation to Year 11 and 12 students and their parents to attend an engineering course and careers event at ECU’s School of Engineering on Friday 14 May 2021 or Friday 25 June 2021 at 4:30pm to 6:30om.
The purpose of the event is to provide information on engineering studies and to showcase why the engineering profession is a rewarding and exciting choice of career. ECU alumni speakers will share their experiences of transitioning into industry roles, and our current students will be present to speak and answer questions about their study and learning experiences at ECU. Additionally, information will be provided on ECU’s wide range of engineering course offerings, entry requirements, scholarships, and student support services. A tour of our industry-grade engineering laboratories will also be offered. Year 11 and 12 students and parents will have the opportunity to chat with academics, alumni, and current engineering students over light refreshments.
By attending this event, Year 11 and 12 students will be able to gain more information about engineering study options and career pathways, as they get ready to make important decisions about the next stage of their learning journey. Register here.
Careers Expo 2021
Due to restrictions lifting, the organisers of the Careers Expo have announced the event will now take place over the weekend of Saturday 1st May and Sunday 2 May, 2021. The ECU team will be on hand to answer any questions you and your students have about future pathways and study options at ECU. Science and Mathematics Information Evening - On Friday 4 June, ECU will be running a Science Information Evening, including a tour of their brand new SuperLabs. The Future Students Team will be on hand to give an outline of courses and pathways to ECU. School of Science staff and students will give presentations, exploring ECU’s UG course content and opportunities that current students have when studying at ECU, including work placements and study tours. The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADF) delivers degrees through the University of NSW. By going to ADFA you get paid as you study. SCSA Student Portal
The SCSA Student Portal is a space for Year 12 students to check and access personal information that relates to their WACE. Visit the student portal to:
- check your personal details
- check your course enrolments
- complete your Student Declaration and Permission (Year 12 students, and anyone enrolled in a Year 12 Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) course, should do this by Thursday, 17 June 2021)

ATAR Revision Programs
If you plan to do some ATAR revision programs during the mid-year break, you need to secure your place now. This blog, Give Yourself Every Chance to Succeed, gives contact details for all of the revision program providers in WA. Good ATAR scores may improve your chances of getting a scholarship or getting into a course requiring high ATAR results. TIP: The ECU one is usually free. Their program is run in September and details of the 2021 program aren’t up yet.

1 May Defence Force Academy Awards Open
The Australian Defence Force Academy Education Award is presented annually to Year 12 students in recognition of leadership potential, and academic and sporting achievements exhibited during Year 11. The award comprises of a laptop computer and certificate for you, along with a plaque of recognition for your school. It is presented to you on behalf of the Navy, Army or Air Force if you’re one of the 120 most suitable applicants who have applied for entry to the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA). Applications Open for National Youth Science Forum 2022
In 2022, the NYSF will deliver a 12-day program from 10-25 January via a combination of in-person and digital STEM experiences. 2022 participants will hear keynote speakers, lectures, participate in hands-on workshops, debates, expos and enriching social activities.
WAAPA Junior Academy Courses
