Year 7s Imagine AI Solutions

Recently our Year 7 students were challenged to dream of ways that artificial intelligence can be used to solve issues they see in their world at the Imagine Cup. During the Microsoft sponsored Imagine Cup competition, they learnt about the power of AI and machines and how existing technology can be used to make the world a better place and solve social, cultural, health or environmental challenges.

The day was facilitated by Gabbi Jenkins from Education Changemakers via Teams. We were fortunate to be joined by Lee Hickin, Chief Technology Officer at Microsoft Australia, who shared his extensive knowledge of AI and its implementation, and also by Aaron Tait, Education Changemakers Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer.

Our student's excelled and amazed us all with their innovative solutions to a range of challenges, including animal welfare, heart conditions, skin cancer, soil salinity and disability support. All the student submissions now join our Australian Imagine Cup competition for the chance to represent Australia at the International Final later in the year.

Their ideas were inspiring and left us confident that they will all continue to make significant contributions to our world.

Thank you to our amazing guests for joining us and inspiring the students and to our teachers for coordinating the day.
