Starting the Conversation
We're excited to report on the success of our inaugural Career Conversations event, which took place at the end of Term 2. This initiative aims to connect our students with real-world professionals, providing valuable insights into various career paths.
Our first session focused on the Health Sciences sector, featuring three members of the St Mark's community:
- Dr Angela Genoni (Old Scholar, Class of 1994)
- Sarah Mansell (Old Scholar, Class of 1998)
- Emma Gunner (Current parent)
These accomplished professionals engaged with our Year 10-12 students, sharing their experiences and shedding light on the diverse opportunities within Health Sciences. The event was met with enthusiasm from our students, who found the session both informative and thought-provoking. Many reported that the conversation helped answer lingering questions and even solidified their post-graduation plans.
Building on this success, we're pleased to announce that more Career Conversation events are scheduled for Term 3. Our next session, scheduled for Wednesday 28 August, will explore the Maritime and Engineering sectors.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Angela, Emma, and Sarah for their invaluable contributions. Their willingness to share their journeys has made a significant impact on our students' understanding of potential career paths.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting initiative as we continue to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world careers.
