St Mark's Takes on the World's Greatest Shave

In a show of compassion and community spirit, over 40 of our students and staff participated in the World's Greatest Shave, a national initiative supporting the Leukaemia Foundation today. The school came together with enthusiasm and generosity, raising vital funds and awareness for blood cancer research and support.

Initially setting a bold $10,000 fundraising goal, our team quickly surpassed it, inspiring us to double our target to $20,000. Now, we have smashed this new milestone and are currently sitting at $21,165 - a testament to our dedication to making a difference. Even though we've reached our target, the need is still great! Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. If you're able to contribute, click here to help support this important cause.

The event was buzzing with excitement! A bake sale, generously organised by Year 12 families, added to the lively atmosphere during recess, while students and staff took centre stage shaving, cutting, and colouring their hair at both recess and lunch. Their bold transformations not only raised funds but also encouraged conversations about the impact of blood cancer.

The World’s Greatest Shave is more than just a fundraiser - it provides crucial support for families affected by blood cancer. Through their participation, our students and staff embodied the school's values of compassion, community service, and teamwork, showing what it truly means to support those in need.

A heartfelt thank you to all students, staff, families, and volunteers who made this event such a success. From the bake sale contributors to the hairdressing volunteers from our parent group and Bonnie and Clyde, every effort played a role in making a meaningful impact.

As we continue our fundraising journey, we remain proud of our contribution to a cause that touches many lives. This event is another example of how the school fosters a culture of service and social responsibility, empowering students to make a difference in their community and beyond.
