Shining in Technology

Congratulations to our very own Digital Technology Teacher, Michelle Chomiak, on her win at the Women in Technology, Western Australia (WITWA) Technology Awards. Michelle was awarded the Shining Star (more than three years in their field) in STEM/Technology Education Award, sponsored by ACS (Australian Computer Society).

The Tech [+] Awards were created to shine a light on the diversity, equity and inclusion of women who work in tech roles and organisations involved with education, advocacy and research in technology-related fields.

Michelle is a leading educator, role model, and advocate for girls. She inspires our future professionals by creating relevant learning experiences for students in Digital Technologies and Computer Science. Her commitment to education and technology is outstanding. We are thrilled that Michelle's hard work and dedication have been recognised in this way.

"Despite the complexities and challenges of #STEM education, this recognition and support strongly affirm all educators in #Science, #Technology, #Engineering and #Mathematics championing STEM education in schools; facilitating students into STEM subjects and eventually STEM careers. I am very humbled by this recognition," said Michelle.

Michelle was also the recipient of the St Mark's Anglican Community School Peter Foss Scholarship this year.
