Senior CAS Sport Carnival - Term 2
Last week, we witnessed an impressive turnout of over 100 students participating in the Term 2 Senior CAS Carnival Day.
Soccer: Both our Senior Boys and Senior Girls teams showcased awesome skills on the field. The Senior Girls remained undefeated throughout the day, delivering an outstanding performance that also included an exciting draw. Their stellar gameplay has them looking forward to finals. On the other hand, the Senior Boys, although not achieving their desired results, displayed great determination against more experienced opponents.
AFL: Our youngest-ever Senior Boys football team engaged in three intense matches, securing a victory and narrowly missing out on two close games. Despite missing Year 12 players, the 10s and 11s played incredibly well, and we take pride in their efforts. The strong presence of Junior CAS teams hints at a promising future for boys' football at St Mark's.
Netball: The Senior Girls' netball team clinched two significant victories, followed by a closely contested match against St Stephen's. Despite facing challenges with some players unavailable, our girls demonstrated resilience throughout the game but could not match their opponents' intensity.
In a new initiative, there was an additional social competition in which St Mark's had the largest representation, with five teams out of ten. These included a Year 12 team, two Year 11 teams, a Year 10 team, and even a team from our PE Studies boys. All our teams displayed remarkable competitiveness, finishing in the top 6, with some securing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places.
As we approach the end of the Term, our four Senior teams are gearing up for cross-over finals. We extend our best wishes to all teams as they continue in the competition.
