Primary Instrumental Concert
On Tuesday 11 June, our young musicians from Years 3-5 showcased what they have been working on in their ensembles in front of a sold-out audience in the Performing Arts Centre. We had the Year 5 Band kick off proceedings who have only picked up their instruments at the start of the year and are already creating such a great sound under the direction of Mr Walker and Mrs Hodson.
The audience were treated to the awesome rhythms from our Junior Percussion Ensemble and amazing Junior Guitar Ensemble directed by Mr John Ralph. Sforzando Strings play beautifully before the audience were told to prepare for the noise as our two Year 5 Rock Bands ‘The Jawbreakers’ and ‘Salty Snappers’ finished proceedings getting the audience involved with some loud rock tunes.
The highlight of the evening was seeing the nerves as students got ready to grace the stage, and then to feel the joy as they left the stage, knowing that they had worked so hard and performed at such a high level. At the end of the night, we had 115 musicians on the stage and it was a reflection of the amazing work that has been put in by not only the musicians, but their tutors, directors and of course their parents.
