CAS Sport Report - Term 3 Week 4
This week our Girls AFL teams were up against Mater Dei. Our Year 8/9 team outshone the opposition, but our Seniors faced a more experienced side.
Year 8/9 Girls Footy – V Mater Dei
The Girls came off a great training session on Tuesday morning and were at the football from the start. The whole team rotated through different positions and never allowed Mater Dei to attack. The team all played well but winning the best-on-ground footy was Hannah, who kicked five goals and marked everything that came her way!
Final score
- St Mark's - 11 goals 4 points (70)
- Mater Dei - 0 goals 0 points (0)
Senior Girls Footy – V Mater Dei
The team has been committed and had a good training session on Thursday. They had a few outs and a few new faces but unfortunately came up against an older (mainly Year 12s) team who had much more experience. Everyone played well and all put in a great amount of effort. Some special mention and congratulations to Amelia for kicking our goal! That was an awesome kick, especially from the perspective of being aware of how the wind would influence the ball, and it sailed through. Also, great game from Caitlin, who won the best-on-ground and Indi, with some great contested footy.
Final score
- St Mark's 1 goal 1 point (7)
- Mater Dei 6 goals 10 points (46)
