CAS Sport Report - Term 3 Week 3

Year 8/9 Girls AFL

This week the Year 8/9 Girls played against Wanneroo High School. Our girls were first to the ball and were rewarded by winning many free kicks!

In a physical game, the girls kept their composure and kept moving the ball forward. After a dominant first half, we allowed them three extra players to give our girls a challenge. This didn’t halt our momentum as the girls won.

St Marks: 14 goals, 12 points (96)

Wanneroo: 1 goal, 1 point (7)

Our best players were Ella, Rachel, Mackenzie and Lois.

Senior (Years 10 - 12) Girls AFL

The Senior girls travelled north to play St James' (Alkimos), and with only one on the bench, the girls embarked on their first game with enthusiasm. The first half looked promising with a two-goal lead, but unfortunately, they were against the breeze in the second half. They held the lead for the entire game until one of the St James' girls won a free kick and kicked a goal after the siren to snatch victory from us! The game was played with lots of energy, and with some of our girls never playing before, it was a great start to the season.

St Mark's: 2 goals, 1 point (13)

St James': 2 goals, 3 points (15)

Our best players were Tenaya, Emily, Indi (x 2) and Ryleigh
