CAS Results - Term 2, Week 9

Overall, our teams had a successful week on the CAS circuit, with many teams coming out with a win against some tough opposition, versing Irene McCormack for netball and soccer and Lake Joondalup Baptist College in AFL.

NETBALL

7a Girls WIN 51-15
The mercy rule was enabled as our girls were very convincing. The whole team played very well, rotating positions around the court. The coach was very proud of how they played, showing great sportsmanship to go along with their outstanding talent.

7b Girls WIN 46-7
A scrappy game, with the opposition putting up a fight early. The girls rallied as the game wore on to achieve a convincing win. Lucy, Clementine and Harper stepped up to be the best.

8 Girls WIN 32-2
The team finally had its full complement. Tia, Katie and Gracie relished the range of positions Mrs Hall asked them to play to give the girls a challenge. They played with great sportsmanship against a team that struggled for experience.

9 Girls Win Forfeit
Next week looms as an important game as three teams are all close for the top spot.

Senior Girls WIN Forfeit
With their remaining games being forfeited, our Senior girls are the ACC champions (CAS). They will progress to play other regional winners next term. We wish them the best of luck!

SOCCER

7 Girls WIN – Forfeit

8/9 Girls Loss 1-5
With a full squad, the girls took it up to an experienced Irene McCormack team. The girls started strongly, with the scores level at 1-1, before the opposition's continual attack became too much. Emilee attacked the ball strongly, with Lois keeping in the first half outstanding.

8/9 Boys Loss 0-1
Wow, what a game. The boys were coming up against the top of the ladder team, and Mr Teo and the boys fought this game out all the way to nearly pull off an upset. Fletcher in goals was outstanding, stopping many an attack. Only a late penalty got them a goal, and even then, we had a chance to level with a penalty and just missed. Great game by all the boys.

Senior Girls Loss 1-3
This top-of-the-table clash did not disappoint with a very high-standard game of football. It was tied early at 1-1 before Irene McCormack got a couple of late goals. We had so many chances with Chloe hitting the crossbar on multiple occasions. The game deserved to be at least a draw, but the girls should be proud of their effort.

Senior Boys Draw 1-1
This last game for the Senior boys was their best. Playing with only 9 players, they were outstanding in fighting out a draw. Otis led the team with great support from his defenders.

AFL

7 Boys WIN Forfeit
This result means that our Year 7 boys are CAS champions. To celebrate, we have organised a scratch match against last year's Year 7 CAS champions (Year 8s).

8/9 Boys WIN 68 – 1
In horrible conditions, the boys started in high spirits. Looking for Cohen early, he started the game with two goals. Dominant all over the ground, the boys rotated positions to challenge themselves. A great win with only Luke's play on from 15m out, the only laughable moment in a quality victory.
