CAS Report - Term 2, Week 2

Last week, our teams were up against St Stephen's School. The Junior teams had mixed results in their first round for Term 2, while our Seniors second round of fixtures continued their positive start.

SENIORS

AFL – Boys LOST 58-3

A disappointing result as we were unable to put our best Senior boys on the field. To their credit, the boys who played gave it everything but were outplayed by their more experienced opponents! Alex in Year 10 was the best of the soldiers out there.

Soccer – Boys WIN 8-3

Without their star goalkeeper, the boys played a great game. Competing against an energetic St Stephen's they never looked troubled. Jacob, Caullum, and Captain Otis stepped up to be keeper but Owen was the best afield.

Soccer – Girls WIN 2-0

Short on players, the girls traveled away with only eight for the side. Did this stop them ... No! They fought against 11 players all game to win with a goal in each half. Outstanding!

Netball – Girls WIN 38-13

The girls played a very consistent game. They were down on a defender, but Maya stepped up to play out of position. Holly and Chloe were also great contributors. They simply outclassed the opposition with coach Berghan moving the girls around with one eye on a big match next week against the undefeated Mater Dei.

JUNIORS

Year 7 Netball WIN 27-13

St Stephen's could only play one team so there were no A and B games. We rotated the girls through the game and they were all outstanding. This is the most even squad we have ever had in Year 7 Netball.

Year 8 Netball LOSS 20-22

A tough two-goal loss as St Stephen's were just too good in the end. A slow start cost the team.

Year 9 Netball WIN 32-9

The Bakalis-led super team had a great start with a convincing win. Girls rotated positions on the court. Chelsea, Grace, and Hannah were outstanding throughout!

Year 8/9 Boys Soccer LOSS 0-5

The boys were outgunned by an experienced and bigger team. They never gave up and are already looking forward to their next challenge

Year 8/9 Girls Soccer LOSS 1-2

An agonizing loss as the girls had their chances but could not convert.

Year 7 Boys Soccer WIN 4-3

A great win for the boys playing together for the first time. They started slowly then fought off a late charge.

Year 7 Girls Soccer WIN Forfeit

The girls had a great training session to prepare for their first game.

Year 7 Boys AFL WIN 38-29

St Stephen's arrived with only 13 players, so we showed great sportsmanship to play equal numbers. The game was close throughout with the boys kicking the last goal for a great win. Noah was best on the field with help from Josh and Dylan but overall it was a team effort.
