CAS Round 7 Recap V Mater Dei

Round 7 of CAS sports brought plenty of excitement, teamwork, and smiles as our students faced off against a tough opponent, Mater Dei. Here's how the action unfolded:

Year 8-9 Indoor Beach Volleyball Result: Win – 52-46

• Set 1 – 14/18 Lost
• Set 2 – 19/13 Won
• Set 3 - 19/14 Won

In the second set, Mater Dei again started strong, scoring the first few points of the set, but St Mark’s showed grit and adaptability, fighting back to win 19–13. With the final set deciding the match, St Mark’s took control early and maintained their momentum, securing a decisive 19–14 victory. This win kept them undefeated throughout the CAS Indoor Beach Volleyball season.

Year 8 Basketball Girls Result: Loss 33-36

It was a fierce battle between two undefeated teams, each fighting to keep their perfect record. The energy was high, and every play felt like it could decide the game. Both teams traded leads throughout, matching each other with skill and determination. The undefeated streak was over lost by just 3 points in one of the toughest games of the season.

Year 9 Basketball Girls Result: Win – 49-46

We played very well against Mater Dei. They were the hardest competition that we’ve had all season, but we fought back winning by only 3 points. The final score was 48-45. Our team dynamics on court were how we stayed undefeated through the season. Our sneaky passes, rebounds and strong leads showed how well we worked together and played as a team resulting in a premiership.

Year 7 Basketball Boys Result: Win 40-36

This week the year 7 boys played one of their best games beating one the top teams by 4 points the first quarter we didn't get off to a good start but coming into the second we showed up playing really good defence and getting to the rim, everyone played well but the some boys carrying on the rebounds others locking down on defence and one of the standouts was Griff with 31 points I'm really proud of how we played as a team.
