CAS Report Term 1 - Round 5

CAS Round 5 Recap V Prendiville

The fifth round of fixtures against Prendiville was held on a real scorcher, but our students showed incredible grit and determination against some tough opponents.

We couldn't have made these matches happen without the fantastic support of our referees, so a huge thank you to them for all their hard work this term! Special mentions go to Jake (Year 12), Xan, Mitchell, and McGee (Year 11), and Caleb, Ryan, Franky, and Ashlyn (Year 10) for their amazing contributions. Your efforts have made a real difference!

This round we played Prendiville. This game was full of many excellent saves and many great rallies, allowing St Mark's to win another game and stay at the top of the ladder. Our team worked well and talked throughout the game, resulting in a fantastic game to play and watch. Overall, it was lots of fun!

Year 7/8 Cricket
Wednesday 26 March will forever be known as the day the best catch the Secondary Oval took place. There was a slight breeze whisking across the oval, and the wicket was fast. The team was chasing a big total, and the game was in the balance. One of the boys raced in with a delivery that Shoaib Akhtar would be proud to have seen (Pakistani bowler who bowled at 161.3 kmph). The timing from the batter was perfect, and he played a perfect cover drive. However, a young man named Jack (Year 7) had something to say about this. He reached out his hand and took an absolute peach of a catch. The sound the bowl made as it hit his outstretched hand could be heard at Koalas! He juggled it not once but three times before securing it in both hands. All his team celebrated with him, and he earned applause from the batting team. It was a great day for cricket.
Mr Brock (was in the slips at the time of this brilliance).

Year 7 Basketball Girls Result: Loss 22 - 30

Year 8 Basketball Girls Result: Win 46 - 19
Winning the CAS basketball game felt like we were on fire. It was one of those games where everything clicked: passes were on point, and the defence was tight. It was a win we’ll be talking about for weeks. Every pass, every shot, and every defensive play came together because we trusted each other on and off the court. Everyone played their role really well, meaning we won 46-19, not to mention Kiara for playing really good defence all game and getting four blocks.
