Students had a guest referee today from our Senior Touch Team, Casey, who has even provided a match report:

Today, Wednesday, March 19th, St Mark’s played against Peter Moyes in a touch rugby match. Both teams started strong, with great hit-ups and some great defence. The St Mark’s team managed to get ahead early with a couple of quick tries. Although St Mark’s was in front on the scoreboard, Peter Moyes applied great tactics to the game and kept pushing hard.

Throughout the game, St Mark’s did keep control with fast attacking plays and great defence, making it hard for Peter Moyes to break through St Mark’s defence. Peter Moyes had a few good attacks, but St Mark’s managed to stop them and kept scoring.

In the end, St Mark’s won comfortably. Both teams played well and didn’t give up, showing great sportsmanship and giving it their all.

Thank you so much for the opportunity.

Year 7 Basketball Girls - Result: Bye

Year 8 Basketball Girls - Result: Win 61-10

Year 9 Basketball Girls - Result: Win 50-40

This week, we played our hardest game yet against Peter Moyes and still managed to finish with a convincing win. All our players put their everything into the game this week. Our defence was strong, and we managed to get the rebounds off some of their tallest players, and we got lots of steals. In our offence, we shared the ball around so that many of us could score and passed it down the court quickly. Our team is really starting to gel and come together, and that shows in our games through our passing and communication. They were a strong and tough team, but we always showed our good sportsmanship. Although it was a challenging game, we always played our best, and we all had fun. Our bench was supportive, cheering everyone on. The final score was 50-40, and we were all happy with how it went and ready for the following games!

Year 7 Basketball Boys - Result: Win 68-12

The boys played some really good basketball this week because we won by over 40 points in the first quarter. We played some really good team basketball by sharing the ball around for an open shot. Our defence was really good, getting lots of steals and interceptions on and off the ball.  During the whole game, we were in control and made sure they couldn't come back. There were no really stand-out performances cause everyone played well.
