Carnival Challenges

Last week, our school proudly entered three teams into the ACC one-day AFL carnivals, showcasing the determination and talent of our students across various age groups.

Year 9-10 Boys: The Year 9-10 boys faced a challenging day with four tough games. Despite some close losses, including a narrow 3-point defeat to the eventual winners, they managed to secure one hard-fought victory. The team showed remarkable resilience, especially with a few last-minute withdrawals and injuries, leaving them with only two substitutes on the bench. The boys battled valiantly throughout the day, demonstrating their unwavering commitment.

Year 8-9 Girls: Competing against eight other schools, our Year 8-9 girls started the day on a strong note, advancing smoothly to the semi-finals. Although they were edged out by a strong Peter Moyes team, our girls finished the competition on a high, winning the playoff to secure 3rd place. Despite a few injuries, the team had plenty of eager substitutes ready to step in, contributing to a fantastic day of sportsmanship and teamwork.

Year 10-12 Girls: The Year 10-12 girls arrived at Seacrest Oval as part of a competitive group of eight schools, ready to give their all. With a mix of experienced players and newcomers eager to make their mark, the girls kicked off the day with two convincing wins. Their next match against Mater Dei was fiercely contested, pushing them to the limit right until the final siren. The team capped off the day with a strong performance, securing 3rd place in the playoff.

Overall, it was a day filled with excitement, determination, and impressive performances from all our teams. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the sportsmanship they displayed throughout the carnival.
