An Inspiring Pledge to be the Change

Tuesday last week marked a significant moment for our school community as the 2025 Middle School Captains and Senior School Prefects were officially inducted during the Investiture Ceremony. After proudly receiving their badges, these young leaders took the St Mark’s Leaders’ Oath, pledging to lead with integrity, fairness, and a commitment to empowering others. This solemn promise reflects their dedication to serving the school and fostering a positive environment for all.

This year’s Year 12 value word, Inspire, serves as a powerful reminder of leadership through action. As Mahatma Gandhi famously said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” Head Prefect Mia echoed this sentiment during her speech, stating:

“This quote is a powerful reminder that change starts with us. Instead of waiting for things to improve, we must take action, lead by example, and embody the values we hope to see in others. Every action we take has the potential to inspire someone else.”

Congratulations to our 2025 Prefects and Captains! We are confident that your leadership will be marked by kindness, positivity, and purpose, inspiring others to follow your example. We look forward to seeing the incredible impact you will make this year!
