A Close Shave

The World’s Greatest Shave is one of the biggest and most anticipated events for our students on the School calendar. This year's event took place during lunchtime on 20th March. Our Service Prefects, Jack and Ethan, along with the support of the Prefect Group, did a phenomenal job in organising a superb day.

The shave raises money for the Leukaemia Foundation, supporting Aussie families dealing with blood cancer nationwide.

An astounding 25 students – plus the Head of Challen, Mr Brock, – participated in the Greatest Shave by shaving, cutting or colouring their hair. Countless more jumped at the opportunity to support the cause by volunteering their time, supplying shavers and food for the bake sale. Many students also tried their hairdressing skills on their friends under the guidance of our wonderful volunteer hairdressers in the ‘hair salons’.

Our goal was to raise $5,000. As a collective, we smashed this goal and raised a total of $7950.00. If you are feeling inspired by our students' efforts and are thinking you’d like to donate please head to our fundraising page here.

The shave is a tradition for St Mark’s students and our community. The dedication and generosity of our community to this cause are truly inspiring, and we are extremely grateful for their support. We simply couldn’t do this without you – thank you for making a difference in the fight against blood cancer.
