Art Show

The St Mark's Annual Art Show is a long-standing tradition of our School. The focus is on local artists and it is a highly respected event in the art community. Every year we are blown away by the talent of local artists, and as a School passionate about creative arts, we are proud to showcase their works and to promote them. As well as being a very successful community event, the Art Exhibition is a key contributor of funds to the P&F Association.

We look forward to hosting a fantastic show in 2024 from 4 October - 6 October! For more information and to follow updates regarding the Art Show, please visit the Art Show's Facebook page or email queries to the St Mark's P&F Association at artshow@stmarks.wa.edu.au.

The History of the St Mark's Art Show

The St Mark's Art Show was the vision of the late Mrs Robyn Sheehan, a foundation parent of St Mark's, in 1985. Robyn's idea was to formulate the Art Show as a cultural and social event for the School, which would also assist with fundraising. Over the past 35 years, the show has grown in stature and quality, establishing a good reputation among local artists, potters, buyers and the WA art community. For each event, the Art Show Committee secures a well-known and successful guest artist who is asked to exhibit several pieces of their work (usually around 8 to 12 pieces).

The Art Show owes its success to the hard work and dedication of the parent volunteers on the Art Show Committee. The committee of willing parents meet regularly and attend to all aspects of the exhibition. Headed by a Coordinator, areas such as advertising, treasury, artist registry, ticket sales, catering, signage, screens, music, security and sponsorship are all covered. The P&F would be delighted to hear from any member of the St Mark's community, including current parents, Old Scholars and past parents, who would like to join the team of volunteers. Please contact the Art Show Coordinator at artshow@stmarks.wa.edu.au.

All this hard work is combined to present a major art exhibition that attracts high-quality art in different mediums from all over Perth and Western Australia. The show also brings outside visitors to the School and raises money for the P&F Association, which benefits the students at St Mark's.
